With eight clinics one county, Utah Valley Pediatrics (UVP) is a pediatric medical practice with roots going back to 1948. Their director approached us in 2006 for help creating a functional website that could attract new parents, improve communication with existing patient-parents, and reduce strain on the administrative staff. That project began a partnership that has lasted more than twelve years.
Because of the complexities of insurance rules and privacy concerns, medical practices cannot engage in many of mainstream practices for attracting clients—no special offers, no frequent-user discounts, and no photos of happy customers on social media.
Instead, we focused on making UVP a local resource for pediatric news and credible information. The first website included a directory of pediatric topics as well as the forms and surveys new parents would prefer to print and complete before a visit. This first website also kicked off the weekly UVP blog and bi-monthly email newsletter. Both of these platforms offered a way to stay in touch with parents—informing, amusing, and educating them in equal measure.
As the internet landscape has grown and evolved, so have the solutions we’ve brought to Utah Valley Pediatrics. In 2012, 2016, and 2019 we released major updates versions to their website, with added functionality like online bill pay, local search optimization, integrated social media, expanded health resources, mobile check-in, and a steadily growing library containing hundreds of unique and authoritative pediatric health articles.
In our thirteen-year+ partnership, it has been our pleasure to watch UVP continue to grow—opening three additional practices and bringing on several more providers. With hundreds of thousands of annual website visitors, dozens of daily online transactions, thousands of engaged Facebook followers, and a sterling reputation for excellent care, Utah Valley Pediatrics is on pace to continue leading their local market as the largest and most respected pediatric practice.
